The hashtag #PostponeNEETPG2022 has been trending on social media once again, but this time, NEET PG aspirants pushed their desire for a postponement to the next level by contacting Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. Times Now sponsored a poll on April 29, 2022, asking students whether they support the postponing of the NEET PG 2022 Exam. The following are the outcomes for the same.

According to a poll, 86% of candidates voted in favour of postponing NEET PG 2022. The majority of those who voted in the poll agreed that the competitive medical test should be postponed. As of now, NEET PG 2022 is scheduled to be conducted on May 21, 2022.

Apart from the 86 percent of candidates who voted yes, about 12 percent voted no, and the remaining 2% were undecided. Aspirants turned to social media to urge that NEET PG 2022 be postponed, citing a lack of time to study for the exam.

The Federation of All India Medical Association, FAIMA Doctors Association, and the All India Medical Students’ Association, AIMSA, are the two main organisations that have written to Mansukh Mandaviya, the health minister, about the postgraduate medical test being postponed.

“In order to assure the availability of a larger number of trained doctors for COVID tasks, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2021examination was delayed… The entrance exam was ultimately held in September 2021, five months after it was originally intended. “As a result of this delay, the candidates…have lost almost a year of their careers,” FAIMA wrote in a letter to Mandaviya.

MCC had recalled the preliminary result for the NEET PG 2021 Counselling Stray Vacancy Round on April 30, 2022, and announced the final results on May 2, 2022, causing yet another delay for candidates.

“In the face of so many obstacles to overcome,” FAIMA continued, “the candidates of NEET PG 2021 deserve a fair chance to participate in continuous counselling and prepare for the NEET PG 2022 exam.”

While no definitive response has been given as to whether or not NEET PG 2022 will be postponed, candidates and NEET aspirants continue to rally for their cause till their requests are met. Candidates are urged to rely on reliable sources of information for the most up-to-date NEET PG 2022 news.
